Understanding the stress that can go along with the homebuying process, Madison Tackett, the Escrow Officer for BesTitle’s Portsmouth office, says her goal is to, “alleviate as much of that stress as possible by maintaining open and transparent communication throughout the entire process.”
As an Escrow Officer, Maddie serves as the third-party point of contact for buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and lenders. By providing this centralized, impartial support, she helps to facilitate smooth and transparent transactions for all parties involved. Leading up to the closing, the BesTitle team conducts a thorough 42-year title search, clearing any issues that could affect the property’s title, ensuring buyers receive a title that is free and clear.
In addition to ensuring a smooth transaction, as an Escrow Officer, Maddie says, “We must be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding against potentially fraudulent activities, as we are seeing more of these threats each day.” It makes sense, then, that Maddie’s clients describe her as diligent, as well as kind and professional. “There was a time crunch for sure on getting it closed for my buyers and they were able to get it done and with smiles on their faces!”
Maddie calls being an Escrow Officer one of the most rewarding and exciting positions. She says, “I love my job! Whether it’s a first-time home buyer or someone looking to downsize, I consider it a privilege to be part of every transaction.” To anyone who may be considering a career as an escrow officer, she says “Take the leap! Growing up in West Portsmouth, Ohio, Maddie now calls Wheelersburg home with her husband, Derek, and daughter, Oaklynn Paige, along with their two cats and dog. During her free time, Maddie enjoys quality moments with her family, exploring the local library for new reads, having fun at the playground, or simply strolling around. “We cherish every moment spent together.”
