A New Chapter for Kim Buckner

Please join each of us in congratulating Kim Buckner on her move to a more limited role in our Charleston office.  While she will thankfully remain a part of our team, she is moving to a part-time position beginning in January 2025, she will be missed on a day-to-day basis at the Charleston office.

For the past 13 years, Kim has served as Office Manager in Charleston, working alongside Bob Skeen, whom she has known since she was 18 and credits him with guiding her growth in the real estate industry over the years. “I don’t know if I would have made it as far as I have without Bob,” she gratefully acknowledges.

Kim also recognizes and appreciates the special role that Terrie Shafer played in her 35-year career, calling her “my rock for the incredible support she provides.” Similarly, Kim gives special thanks to BesTitle President, Tom Klein, for having the confidence in her to manage the Charleston office and providing the support necessary to make it such a success.

As reflected by Timothy Jamison, COO, Kim’s leadership and dedication to service were key in driving BesTitle’s growth throughout West Virginia. Tom and Tim frequently heard, ‘We’ve had a great experience with your Charleston office,’ while exploring potential expansion opportunities in the state. “This positive reputation cultivated by Kim and her team’s consistent delivery of exceptional service, aided BesTitle in establishing a strong presence in new communities,” credits Tim.

During her time with BesTitle, Kim has many favorite memories thanks to her coworkers who worked so hard, making her job enjoyable and with whom she shared many laughs and tears along the way. In addition to navigating the “new normal” brought about by COVID-19 and decorating the booth each year for the annual education fair, her participation with the renovation of the Kanawha County Public Library is high on her list of accomplishments.

“I was so pleased that BesTitle could be a part of this reimagined library that incorporates the old with the new and is a wonderful addition to our city.“ To this day, Kim enjoys a sense of pride for being involved in such a meaningful project for the community. “When I visit this facility, I do so with pride knowing that we were able to assist our community in this beautiful transformation.”

In retirement, Kim plans to spend time with her grandchildren and her husband (most likely in that order). She is looking forward to having days in the summer available to her to visit the pool, beach, or go on cruises and camping trips with her family, and maybe one day train for another 5K.

Join us in wishing Kim all the best at a “transition party” and lunch in her honor to be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on December 19th at the Charleston office, 400 Washington St. East, Ste 201.
